Golden Gate American Little League (GGALL) is all about baseball. We love the game and want every child to have this quintessential American experience.
GGALL is part of Little League International - the same organization that brings you the Little League World Series. Little League is the world's largest volunteer youth sports program with over 4 million volunteers worldwide. The program has been in existence for over 70 years and brings a wealth of experience and resources to our local chapter. See www.littleleague.org for more information.
GGALL is also part of Little League Florida District 18 and is located in the Little League Southeast Region. More information about District 18 can be found HERE.
The majority of our games are hosted at Max A. Hasse Jr. Community Park. Kid-pitch divisions have the opportunity to travel outside our league and play some interleague games against other Little League programs in our district.
All registrants of GGALL are assigned to a team. While we do require different skill levels to participate in certain divisions, there are no "player cuts" or dissolved teams that result in players not making a team or missing a baseball season.
Little League rules have minimum play requirements - and GGALL enhances those rules to emphasize a positive player experience. One of our core principles is to focus on player development and game play such that each player wants to participate again next season.
We offer baseball programs nearly all year round for youth aged 4-14. We have two primary baseball seasons: Spring Season and Fall Season. Below is some high level information about our seasons and programs. For more information, please visit our Registration tab.
SPRING SEASON
The Spring Season is our main baseball program and is considered competitive play. The season runs from January until mid-May. Teams are formed through a player draft and team parity is a point of emphasis. The season culminates for kid-pitch divisions with an end of season tournament versus other district teams and the opportunity to participate in All Star tournaments.
FALL SEASON
The Fall Season is our instructional season designed to focus on player development and is considered a continuation of the Spring season. Players not previously connected to a team are placed by the GGALL Board. Wins and losses don't really count, there are no division standings, and no divisional champions. Fall Ball is all about learning new skills, playing new positions, and enjoying the game of baseball.
ALL STARS
At the conclusion of the Spring Season, GGALL selects multiple kid-pitch teams to participate in their respective Little League All Star District tournaments. These teams are selected through a nomination process that accounts for a player's performance throughout the Spring season. Teams that win their District tournament are invited to participate in the Little League All Star State tournament.
If our Major Division All Star Team (12u) wins the State Tournament, they are invited to participate in the Southeast Regional Tournament, usually played in Warner Robins, GA to face champions from AL, GA, NC, SC, TN, VA, and WV. The winner of the Southeast Region Tournament is then invited to play at the Little League World Series. The Little League World Series is played in August at Williamsport, PA with games broadcasted on ESPN.
Golden Gate American Little League is a 100% volunteer organization (with the exception of paying umpires a small per game fee). All Coaches and Board Members volunteer their time with no financial compensation. We value all the time and effort that these committed individuals provide to make GGALL one of the best, most well respected youth baseball leagues in southwest Florida.
